Top cover removed from the chassie of the Märklin 3048.
Seen on the chassie, are all the original "analog" items. On the top cover to the left, you can see the smoke generator with it´s plus connection.

Speaker installed in the tender. Left: PC-bord with two LED:s and resistor for the rear lighting.
Rear lighting in the tender. Holes drilled for the LED:s in the position of the old "fake" lights.
A tool was produced to be able to drill the holes in the cover centered correctly.
Top cover. Window installed without fixture. Easy to remove and clean.
Conversion complete with all the items connected and wired. Head beam light bulb is changed to LED. Holder for the led is Märklin socket 624510. Separate "earth" is important for the connection of the LED. No connection to the chassie. A connection to the decoder is important, as advised in the decoder manual.
